Palm M130 Repair Guide

Step 1 - You are going to remove the flip lid. Flip the lid up and pull it out. There are two clips that hold the flip cover in place.

Step 2 - You are going to remove the flip lid. Flip the lid up and pull it out. There are two clips that hold the flip cover in place. 
Step 3 - You will need to remove the faceplate. There is a tab at the top of the unit that unclips and allows you to remove the faceplate. 

Using a T5 Torx you are going to remove the 4 screws. 

Step 4 - Once the 4 screws are removed you can lift up on the side of the unit and remove the back cover. 

As you take the case apart the motherboard and the screen should follow the bottom plastic. The front half of the plastic is now removed. 

Step 5 - Now you can flip out the motherboard and the screen as one unit. The battery is still attached to the motherboard. 
Step 6 - The battery is double side taped to the bottom of the case. 

Top Screen Connector, There is a small white/cream colored tab that holds the screen ribbon to the motherboard. Gently you are going to lift up on the tab. The tab is hindged and stays with the motherboard. Once the connector tab is up at a 45 angle you can pull out the ribbon connection from the screen.

To remove the battery connector just pull it out following the arrow. 

Step 7 - Now that the ribbon and battery have been removed you can remove the motherboard. The screen can now be removed also. Here is a picture of the motherboard, screen and back plastic all removed from the unit.

To remove the battery you will need to pull it from the back of the back plastic. It is in there hard and might need a little tug to get it off. The battery is held in with a double sided tape that looks like a glue. 

Step 8 - If you need to remove the buttons they are just sitting in their slots and can be removed easily.

To put the unit back together just follow the directions backwards.
