Please read all the directions before starting this repair

Dell Axim X3 Take Apart Guide

Step 1
You will need the following tools for this take apart
  • A Small Phillips Screw Driver
  • A Case Opener Tool (Click Here to Purchase)
  • Step 2
    Flip Over your Dell Axim X3 and remove the (4) rubber foot covers.
    Step 3
    After removing the (4) rubber foot covers - unscrew the (4) screws in each corner.
    Step 4
    With the back side of the unit facing upwards use your shim tool to loosen the cover tabs all around the unit.
    Step 5
    Once all of your tabs are released the unit should open.
    Step 6
    Remove the (3) screws as indicated by the circles
    Step 7
    Remove all the ribbon connector cables... You will notice (2) of these cables are shimmed into place by a small plastic connector tab.  Be careful in releasing these by securing both sides when applying the release on each side. 
    Step 8
    Release the speaker wire connector.
    Step 9
    Release the Antenna Connector.  (comes off easily straight up).  Remove Antenna Piece from unit.
    Step 10
    Release the Power connector tab located by the ribbon cable connectors.
    Step 11
    You should now be able to release the mainboard from the unit. 
    Step 12
    Now you can release the plastic tabs holding in your screen and remove it and replace it with your new screen.

    Work in reverse to re-assemble your unit.
